"Keep your love of nature, for that is the true way to understand art more and more." -Vincent Van Gogh
It was on a trip to the Barron Falls near Cairns, whilst walking through the rainforest that I became enchanted by what I saw. I decided there and then that painting the rainforest was the direction I wanted to go; curtain figs, fan palms, mushrooms and rainforest floor, butterflies, peacocks and birds. The Curtain Fig trees of the rainforests are my inspiration for these paintings. We have some beautiful rainforests in North Queensland and I enjoy sharing the beauty of a rainforest to others through my paintings. The colours represent how I was feeling at the time. Having the curtain fig painted in bright gold , yellow, green and red shows the tree is full of life. The other rainforest elements are thriving in their vibrancy. While on holidays in Tasmania I was amazed with the beauty of the tree ferns and snow gum trees, and this is where I got my inspiration for some of these paintings.
