'My art is inspired by memories of time I have spent in natural environments, walking along a beach with family or snorkelling on the Great Barrier Reef. I also love exploring in National Parks and am usually the last one out because I have gathered so much inspiration with photos. Botanical gardens have always been a favourite as well and that’s where I got my inspiration for my Enchanted Lotus Flower paintings.

I feel so alive when exploring all of these locations and work hard to keep that feeling to be able to add sparkle and soul to my artwork. Ultimately when people look at my paintings I would like them feel uplifted and share the joy I seek to capture.'

Donna Maloney is a Brisbane based artist who predominantly works with watercolours and mixed media, she is also known for her work with acrylics and alcohol inks. She is known and been recognised for her efforts in this field.

Donna loves to experiment and try different techniques in her work. She enjoys the natural progression of using mixed mediums, including acrylic, oil sticks, acrylic inks and drawings on fine delicate paper. Having experimented in many ways of using these beautiful and expressive mediums she has a well known style. 

Her current work includes a series of coral reef paintings in mixed media.

She was just recently commissioned to create a series of new works with a tropical reef theme that are now displayed in a new resort in the Maldives.

Donna has lived in North Queensland for 20 years amid the vibrancy of the tropics and seascapes which are filled with such beauty.
